Wallace first responders perform ‘purr-fect’ rescue

WALLACE, NC (WWAY) — The Wallace Fire Department and Wallace Police Department came to the rescue of a cat trapped in a storm drain.

According to a post on the Wallace Police Department’s Facebook page, it happened at Walmart.

After assessing the situation, the team formulated a plan but acted quickly to prevent a cat-astrophe. Wallace PD says the cat was calm and ready to get out of there right away.

After the successful rescue, a passerby asked if she could take the cat home.  First responders recommended she take the cat to the vet for a check-up.
