Walmart holds first Wellness Day of 2024

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Walmart locations around the country held their first Wellness Day of 2024 on Saturday. 

Customers were able to receive free glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings, as well as free immunizations for COVID-19, RSV, Tetanus, and more. Customers were also able to receive free goodie bags with essential care items. 

Pharmacist Deborah Barefoot said that the event is a great opportunity to get around the cost of basic medical checkups.  

“Today we’re having our first Walmart Wellness event of 2024, we’re inviting communities to get healthy and stay healthy, get to know our pharmacy staff here, have free screenings, we’re also offering free immunizations,” Barefoot said. 

And if you missed the first Wellness Day of this year, don’t worry—Walmart will be hosting additional Wellness Days throughout 2024.
