Want to pull a plane for Special Olympics?
RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Do you want to pull a plane while helping raise money for Special Olympics North Carolina? The 2017 Plane Pull event is looking for five-person teams who will test their strength against other teams competing.
Each team will pull a 30,000-pound regional jet 25 feet to see who can record the fastest time. Organizers say the 2017 Plane Pull at Raleigh-Durham International Airport is a key public awareness and fundraising event for Special Olympics North Carolina.
Participants must be at least 14 years old to compete. Each five-person team must raise a minimum of $800 by April 29th. Click here to register a team.
The April 29th event is also open to the public. Organizers say the event festivities include team prizes, music, food trucks, kids’ activities and games, a T-shirt design contest, an outdoor furniture raffle, photo booth and much more. The festivities will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are open and free to spectators.
