Warming Shelter ILM needs volunteers and donations
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Warming Shelter ILM will open its doors on Tuesday, January 7, at Grace United Methodist Church on Grace Street and remain open through Saturday morning, January 11.
The shelter is in need of volunteers to help in various roles, including food preparation, hospitality, and cleaning. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can sign up via the shelter’s Facebook page or website.
In addition to volunteers, the shelter is also accepting donations. Needed items include canned soda, individually bagged snacks, paper products, blankets, sleeping bags, and winter hats and gloves. Please note that they are not accepting clothing donations at this time.
The shelter’s mission is made possible through the support of the local community. Financial contributions are always appreciated to help continue this vital service, especially as the shelter prepares for an even larger demand in the future.
