Warming Shelter ILM planning to remain open for 7 nights as temperatures drop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With the potential for winter weather and the extreme cold temperatures in the forecast the Warming Shelter ILM is opening again.

The shelter will open on Saturday, January 24, and they’re planning on staying open through the morning of Saturday, January 31.

Any person experiencing homelessness is welcome to stay in a warm place over night. Check in is at 5 p.m. and checkout is at 9 a.m.

The shelter is located at 401 Grace Street in Wilmington.

With the extended period of cold expected, the shelter is seeking more volunteers and donations. They also have an Amazon Wishlist for anyone willing to donate.
