Warrants reveal fmr. reserve officer aided in his own arrest


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — According to search warrants, Joseph Adam Silva helped deputies arrest him after planning a meet-up with one of his victims while she was reporting him to detectives.

The search warrant said that while the victim was reporting the incident, Silva called her cellphone and requested to meet with her that evening at 11:30 p.m. He specified a location on Raleigh Avenue in Carolina Beach to the victim and deputies were able to use that information to meet him and arrest him.

Silva is still in jail under a $2.5 million dollar bond for his crime. He was a reserve officer in Carolina Beach for about six months.
