Watch the ball drop at Kure Beach

KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Start the new year with a bang on Pleasure Island, as Kure Beach lights up the sky.

A giant lighted beach ball will fall at midnight followed by fireworks near the pier.

But before the clock strikes 12, a DJ will be on hand to get the party started so don’t forget your dancing shoes.

The fun starts at 9 p.m.
