Water main break could affect traffic

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The CFPUA is responding to a water main break in the outer westbound lane of Wrightsville Avenue.

The CFPUA says its a standard repair, but it is in a difficult, high-traffic location.

They are going to attempt to only close the outside lane heading west but of conditions prevent, they will conduct a detour.

The broken main is estimated to be around 60 years old.  When service is restored, a precautionary boil water advisory will be issued to residents close to the break location, likely through door-to-door notification.
