Water St. parking deck developers asks for 90-day extension

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Developers for the Water St. parking deck have asked for an additional 90 days to complete the development agreement. The city has agreed to grant them that time.

“One thing that we want to make certain of is that we get this project right. This is a very complex project to put together because it involves the public, with the public parking, as well as the private sector working to put this deal together. So it is a very complex project and we’re going to take our time and do it right,” said Mayor Bill Saffo.

The additional 90 days will be for some design modifications of the building.
