Wave employees not striking as new deadline set
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In an impromptu news conference Thursday afternoon, Wave Transit employees said they will continue to do their jobs, despite continued concerns for workplace conditions.
Employees said after another meeting this afternoon, they have still not reached an agreement with Wave Transit management. Employees said they would strike if their concerns were not heard, but this afternoon they decided to continue doing their jobs.
They said they’ve set a new deadline of October 1. At that time, if an agreement is not reached, they said they could strike.
