Welcome Home Angel reveals new accessible room to young boy

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One New Hanover County boy received a new renovation to his home to make it more accessible.
Sawyer is a 5 year old boy living with Spina Bifida.
Today, the non-profit Welcome Home Angel surprised Sawyer by letting him see the renovations they did to his home.
Two companies, 101Mobility and Harmar, donated and installed an elevator which will allow him to have easier access from the living room to other parts of his home.
The bathroom has new, donated tiles and the shower and sink are now completely accessible.
In his bedroom, Sawyer now has a platform bed with a small ramp and a slide.
He also now has a canvas tent with sensory toys he can enjoy while hanging out with friends.
Sawyer’s mom says all the changes are something they could have never imagined.
If you want to get involved with Welcome Home Angel, they accept donations and are always looking for volunteers to help bring comfort, joy, and accessibility to families in need.
