Weather forces delay at Wells Fargo Championship
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An active morning of weather has forced a delay of round 2 of the Wells Fargo Championship at Eagle Point Golf Club in New Hanover County.
Tournament officials say everything has been pushed back three hours. That includes all shuttles to the course as well as tee times, which were scheduled to start just before 7 a.m.
The delay had originally been one hour, but it was pushed back another hour around 6:15 a.m., and then pushed back again around 7:15 a.m.
The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings early this morning, including one that included Eagle Point. More rain is forecast throughout the morning.
