What $1.5 billion could pay for in the Cape Fear
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The biggest Powerball jackpot in history is on the line tonight.
“1.5 billion,” Earnest Hyder said. “It’s kind of hard to say.”
Can you actually imagine what you could do with that much money? With the cash pay out option and after taxes, the winner would walk away with $651 million.
That could pay for at least 351 million signature Wake N Bake doughnuts.
“l’d buy a few doughnut yes, but not that many,” Hyder said.
“We would be making doughnuts all day and all night,” Assistant Manager of Wake N Bake Alli Evans said.
It could also pay for 65 million Freakers or more than 28 million round trip tickets on the Bald Head Island Ferry. It could also pay for 80 million Flaming Amy’s Burritos.
“I don’t know where I would put them all,” Daniel Moreno said. “I’d probably end up buying the place.”
“That’s sounds pretty awesome, but a waste of money,” Tommy Guerrera said.
You could also re-create Iron Man III in Wilmington at least three more times.
There is one Wilmington trademark that may be a little too pricey for this pay out. That is the U.S.S. North Carolina sitting at $1.3 billion.
While these are all some pretty popular items in the Cape Fear, most lottery players had a some different ideas for that jackpot.
