Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Spring has sprung in the cape fear region and there is no shortage of fun activities happening for everyone to get out and enjoy.

On Friday, Wilmington Rock Gym in Porters Neck is hosting Women’s Climbing Night where you can face your fear of heights…test out a new hobby…or simply polish up on your current rock climbing skills.

The monthly event gives participants the opportunity to do an assisted climb and enjoy a supportive atmosphere.

 

Reservations are available between 5:30 and 10 P.M….tickets are 20 dollars and can be purchased in advance.

 

All skill levels are encouraged to participate and gear rental is included.

 

On Saturday… you can pull your favorite shade of green from your closet and head downtown for the 25th annual Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The parade will feature a wide range of participants such as veterans’ groups, school bands from elementary through college, local organizations, and recreational clubs.
Participants include Vietnam and submarine veterans, the Marine Corps League, Wilmington Senior Softball, and the Notre Dame Club, among others….and this year WWAY’s very own Matt Bennett will be in the parade.
The parade route will start at Front and Brunswick Streets at 11 A.M…going down Front Street…and ending at Dock and 2nd Street.
There will be a review stand at Front and Market Street.
And finally on Sunday models will be hitting the runway at the Lumina on Wrightsville Beach to show off trendy new styles for the Azalea Festival Spring Fashion Show.
VIP check in and entry begins at 11 A.M…with general admission entry beginning at 11:30.
Guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and shop the vendor expo starting  at 12 P.M…with the fashion show officially starting at 1 P.M.
Tickets can be purchased online through The Azalea festivals Etix website.
WWAY’s very own Tomika Jackson and Jessica Keisling will be participating in the show as models this year.
