WHAT’S HAPPENING: August 2nd-4th
CAPE FEAR (WWAY) — The first weekend of August is here and there will be plenty to do in the Cape Fear.
In Myrtle Beach, it’s the 42 Annual Craftsmen’s Summer Classic Art and Craft Festival. Hundreds of artists and craftsmen from more than 15 states come to display their art. Many works include pottery, fine art, glass, jewelry, baskets, weaving clothing and furniture. Its happening at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center at 2101 N. Oak Street from Friday- Sunday.
In Wilmington, take a swing for a good cause. Domestic Violence Shelter and Services Inc. is hosting a golf tournament called “Swing for Change” at Wilmington Municipal Golf Course. Proceeds will go toward the operation and programs of Domestic Violence Shelter and Services Inc. Its happening on Saturday and registration details can be found here.
In Southport, make sure to bring your appetite to the 2nd Annual Food Truck Rodeo. The event will feature several different types of foods and flavors from savory to sweet. A wide variety of dishes will be available for everyone to try. Its happening on Saturday from 11am-3pm at the Fort-Johnston Southport Museum and Visitors Center.
