WHAT’S HAPPENING: March 20th-22nd
CAPE FEAR, NC (WWAY) — Residents across the Cape Fear region will find a variety of events this weekend, ranging from food festivals to family-friendly entertainment.
Food lovers can head to Good Hops Brewing for the 7th annual Mac and Cheese Festival on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event features a range of dishes, including traditional, spicy, meat, seafood and vegetarian options. Attendees can sample entries and vote for their favorite, with the winner receiving the Golden Noodle Trophy and a $300 grand prize. Admission is $10.
Later Saturday, a car show is scheduled at Topsail Tire and Auto from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Organizers say a variety of vehicles will be on display, and a food truck will be on site.
Also taking place Saturday is the Cape Fear Fandom Faire, a free event celebrating comics, science fiction and fantasy. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northeast Branch of the New Hanover County Library. It will feature local authors, artists and vendors, along with panel discussions and appearances by cosplay artists.
With multiple events happening throughout the day, there are several options for residents looking to spend time in the community this weekend.
