Whiteville man arrested on drug charges

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A Whiteville man is behind bars after the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office arrests him on drug charges.
According to the sheriff’s office, the arrest follows an investigation that began after detectives received multiple complaints from community members about suspected drug activity at James Nathan Stephens’ home.
Detectives conducted a series of undercover operations, which provided the evidence needed to secure warrants against him on September 10th.
Stephens was charged with:
- 2 Counts Trafficking in Methamphetamine
- Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Stephens was issued a $250,000 secured bond and transported to the Columbus County Detention Center.
