WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville Police Department Chief Douglas Ipock announced he is retiring.

Ipock has been chief of Whiteville PD since 2020, replacing Jeffrey Rosier, who retired in 2019.

Prior to coming to Whiteville, Ipock was in Craven County, with New Bern PD.

Ipock says he’s been in law enforcement for 30-plus years, and it’s time for the next phase of his life.

His last day will be February 28, 2025.
