Whiteville police officer named in obstruction of justice investigation

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) – The City of Whiteville has revealed the name of the police officer who is currently suspended and under investigation. 

According to a news release, Officer Sergio Reed is being investigated on allegations of obstruction of justice.

Whiteville City Spokesman Hal Lowder says Reed has been with the Whiteville Police Department since 2011.

The SBI is investigating.
