Whiteville Police: Woman shot while sitting in car at complex

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say a woman was shot while sitting in a car at a Whiteville apartment complex Thursday night.

Whiteville Police say it happened just after 10 p.m. in Kent Place Apartments on Tram Road. That’s where they say a woman sitting in the passenger seat of a car at the complex was shot in the leg area.

Police say the bullets were fired through the car. The woman was taken to the hospital for what they say appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Whiteville Police say they cannot release more information at this time, as the investigation is on-going.
