Whiteville Post 137 wins first round game in state tournament; Wilmington doesn’t

WINGATE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville Post 137 got off to a comfortable lead against High Point on Friday afternoon in the American Legion Baseball State Tournament. High Point came back to the game at 6 in the 7th inning. Whiteville Post 137 won 7-6 in 1o innings. Whiteville will face the Garner on Saturday.

Wilmington Post 10 played in the 4:30 game on Friday against Rowan County. The team that calls Newman Park home came from behind to beat Post 10 by a 7-4 score. Post 10 will face Caldwell County on Saturday in an elimination game in the double elimination tournament.
