Whiteville’s Shaun Kirk keeps stealing the show in Raleigh with his dunks
RALEIGH, NC (GOPACK.COM) — The NC State men’s basketball team defeated Division II opponent Barton College 112-60 on Monday night inside PNC Arena in the team’s second exhibition game. The win wrapped up the exhibition season for the Pack.
Dennis Smith, Jr. reached 20 points for the second consecutive game. He posted a game-high 24 points and added six steals, four assists and four rebounds. Torin Dorn tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 6-of-8 from the field and also adding four assists and four steals. Maverick Rowan scored 17 points for the second consecutive exhibition game, while Terry Henderson added 14 points and seven rebounds. Abdul-Malik Abu and Shaun Kirk each recorded 10 points.
The Pack shot 58 percent from the floor and dominated on the glass with a 64-34 advantage in points in the paint. NC State used its 14 steals to go on the break and outscored the Bulldogs 52-7 in fast-break points.
The Wolfpack dominated the game and never trailed. The Pack opened the game with a 37-10 run, and led by as many as 37 points in the opening 20 minutes. NC State entered halftime with a 59-23 lead.
NC State continued to roll in the second half and led by as many as 52 points. The Pack concluded the game on an 11-2 run to close out its final exhibition.
