Who says kids can’t vote? Now they can!

The Cape Fear Volunteer Center has opened their annual Online Poll for Kids in New Hanover County.

Kindergarten through twelfth graders can vote for mayor and three city council members, and voice their opinion about texting while driving.

To vote, go to www.capefearvolunteercenter.org and follow the link to Online Voting.

“We want to make kids voting as accessible as possible to all the kids in the county so we’re doing online voting which is now open,” said Annie Anthony of the Cape Fear Volunteer Center.

If kids want to wait until Election Day and go vote with their parents, the polling location at the Northeast Branch Library will be open for kids voting on November 3rd.

The Cape Fear Volunteer Center is looking for parents and kids to volunteer to work a three-hour shift at the kids voting booth at the library.

Go to www.capefearvolunteer.org for details.
