WHQR and Good Shepherd Center teams up to help the community

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– In the holiday spirit of giving WHQR partnered with Good Shepherd Center for its year end-pledge. In this one-day pledge drive, listeners who donated to the station also got to help support the community.

For every pledge made, investment advisor Bob Loweth, will make donations to Good Shepherd Center, and will be matching financial contributions to the radio station.

WHQR’s Ben Schachtman explains how each donation can help out a single person.

“Any donations we get, it can be 5 bucks, 500 bucks. That turns into 20 hot meals for adults and children at the Good Shepherd Center. If you only got a couple of bucks, it could still be useful for anyone who needs it,” said Schachtman.
