Wilmington announces date, details for 2024 tree lighting ceremony

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The holiday season is right around the corner.

With Christmas just over two months away, the City of Wilmington has announced the date for their 21st annual tree lighting ceremony.

The event will take take place Friday, November 29 at the intersection of Market and Water Streets.

Bring the kids out and enjoy live entertainment, vendors, and, of course, Santa. 

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. The countdown for the actual lighting ceremony begins at 6:25 p.m.

Wilmington’s second tree lighting of the holiday season will happen at Riverfront Park on Thursday, December 5.

It will run from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Santa Claus will make an appearance, with a special performance by the Roland-Grise Middle School KNIGHT Singers, followed by a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
