WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — People looking to stop by Edward Teach Brewery this weekend were met with a shocking message.

Signs that read “closed due to bomb threat” were taped on the doors of the brewery.

This comes after the brewery has faced controversy following a social media post that claimed the owner of Edward Teach Brewery caused a confrontation with a musician while they were performing at the Wilmington taproom.

Wilmington Police say they responded around 3:30 p.m.

The officer spoke with a representative of the business and a police report was filed.

This incident is under investigation.
