Wilmington City Council approves budget

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council voted unanimously to approve the city’s budget Tuesday night.

A city spokeswoman said the budget includes additional funding for the police department for increased community engagement as well as transportation funds.

A property tax increase will also be included. Malissa Talbert said for the average $170,000 home, it will equal about forty more dollars a year.
