Wilmington City Council candidate withdraws from election

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council candidate Sean Guerrero has announced he is withdrawing from this year’s election, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
In a statement, Guerrero expressed gratitude for the support he received during the campaign, including endorsements from the New Hanover County GOP and the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association.
“I fully stand behind the NHCGOP candidates running for this year’s Municipal Election,” Guerrero said. “They have a strong vision filled with determination to get the job done.”
Guerrero urged residents to make their voices heard at the polls.
“Please get out and vote this year — we need positive change and strong leadership that carries the vision we can all stand with and support,” he added.
That leaves seven people running for city council. The other candidates include JC Lyle, Kelly J. Roberts, Jr., Richard Collier, Cassidy Santaguida, Chakema Clinton-Quintana, and incumbents Luke Waddell and Clifford Barnett.
