Wilmington Early College HS club raises money and supplies for Sokoto house
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Students at Wilmington Early College High School are working to do good in their community.
Students from the high school’s Adult Community Health Worker Club raised $104 and collected 500 toiletry items for people in need.
The items will be donated to Sokoto house, a Wilmington-based nonprofit.
Community Health Worker Club President Kimberly Sutton said the fundraiser was envisioned as a way for the club to give back to the community.
“It’s definitely important to be to help people in need, and also just better our community as a whole,” she said.
Sutton is in the eleventh grade, and said she looks forward to continuing the club’s mission of keeping the community “safe and healthy” as she enters her senior year.
