WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department is once again hosting its annual food drive.

The drive supporting the nonprofit Nourish NC began on Saturday, Nov. 1, and runs through Friday, Dec. 12.

There are drop-off collection tubs at every fire station, as well as at Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St.

Last year, the City collected a record-breaking 1,700 pounds of food, and they’re hoping to top that number this year.

Nourish NC is requesting the following donations:

Fruit shooters, pasta sauce, jelly, vegetable cups, canned fruit and vegetables, individual juice boxes, applesauce cups, dried fruit, cereal, granola, oatmeal, Clif, Kind, or Kashi bars, rice, pasta, packaged side dishes (mac and cheese, Knorr rice, etc.), soups, peanut and almond butter, canned chicken or tuna, black and pinto beans.
