Wilmington Fire station No. 6 grand opening
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On Saturday, the Wilmington Fire Department officially opened Fire Station 6.
In a press release, the fire department called the new River Road location a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance emergency response and public safety for the growing Riverlights community and surrounding areas.
The new fire station features a fully equipped dine-in kitchen, dormitories, a lounge and dedicated fitness and training rooms for firefighters.
The department’s 10th fire station will have an engine company staffed by four firefighters who will rapid emergency response.
Wilmington Fire Station 6 is located at 4455 River Road.
