Wilmington habitual felon pleads guilty to possession of weapon, cocaine

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A Wilmington man pleaded guilty Monday in New Hanover County Superior Court to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine.

According to a release from New Hanover County District Attorney Ben David’s office, Albert Dumas, 35, pleaded guilty to both charges and obtained the status of a habitual felon.

On Dec. 14, officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded to Foxglove Court regarding a man with a firearm and found multiple men in the area, including Dumas.
