Wilmington Health is dropping Cigna health insurance beginning next year

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Starting in the new year, Wilmington Health will no longer be accepting Cigna Health Insurance.
According to a Cigna Healthcare spokesperson, “It is disappointing that Wilmington Health is choosing to leave our network January 1st. Since Wilmington Health notified us of their intention to leave, we have been negotiating in good faith and have offered fair, reasonable rate increases. Unfortunately, Wilmington Health continues to demand even more, which would make healthcare unaffordable for our customers and their families. We hope that Wilmington Health will do what is right for the people we both serve in this community and continue working with us to reach an affordable agreement.”
The Cigna spokesperson adds there are other providers in the area who will still accept Cigna health insurance.
