Wilmington man arrested for overdose death in Pender County

CURRIE, NC (WWAY) — The drug-related death of a woman nearly two years ago has led to an arrest.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit has charged Anthony Quinn Marshall of Wilmington, with “Death by Distribution.”

The charge follows an investigation into the overdose death of Jessica Kelly of Currie.

On 7/13/2023, deputies with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office and Pender EMS responded to Blueberry Road and found Kelly unconscious.

Life saving measures were attempted, but were unsuccessful and Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives concluded that the cause of death was due to a fatal overdose.

On 02/24/25, Anthony Quinn Marshall was arrested in connection with the fatal overdose and placed into the Pender County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.”
