Wilmington man charged with drug crimes in Bladen County

BLANDEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Bladen County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Wilmington man on multiple drug charges on October 4th in Tar Heel.
According to BCSO, deputies responded to an overdose last Friday evening. When they were investigating, deputies discovered freshly used hypodermic syringes. EMS was called. A further search of the male and his vehicle revealed multiple packages of MDMA also known as Ecstasy, a Schedule I controlled substance.
Justin Andrew Elkert, 42, was taken to the hospital but when he was released, he tried to flee.
Elkert was charged with PWISD Schedule I controlled substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, Maintaining a vehicle for keeping/selling controlled substance, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
