Wilmington man charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A 40-year-old man was arrested in New Hanover County and charged with five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to court documents, Steven Goodnight of Wilmington possessed multiple videos of minors engaging in sexual activity.

NHCSO arrested Goodnight on Wednesday, and he was taken to the New Hanover County Detention Facility where a magistrate issued no bond due to pending charges in Onslow County also for third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

He is currently being held on a $130,000 secured bond.

Court documents date the offense back to September 18th, 2024 and the NHCSO said Goodnight was arrested following a lengthy investigation.
