New Hanover County man charged with statutory rape, indecent liberties with a child
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A 21-year-old New Hanover County man is facing multiple felony charges including statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child, according to court documents filed in New Hanover County.
Benjamin Alexander Bell was arrested on October 14 and charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory rape of a child 15 years or younger.
According to warrants, the alleged offenses occurred on December 1, 2022. The documents allege Bell engaged in sexual acts and indecent behavior with the child, who was seven or eight years old when the incidents occurred.
Bell was 18 or 19 years old at the time of the alleged offenses.
His court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
