WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man pled guilty on Friday to second-degree murder and was sentenced to at least 20 years in prison.

According to a press release, police found Larry Brown with a gunshot in his back on December 26th, 2023, in Wilmington. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives then discovered surveillance footage that showed the events leading up to the shooting. With that, they were able to identify Derrick Jones, 28.

Later, detectives obtained information that the motive for the murder was a personal feud that had recently emerged between the victim and the defendant.
