WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man has been sentenced to at least 4 years in prison on shooting and firearm offenses.

According to the press release, around 10:20 a.m. on June 10th, Jacob Williamson, 39, borrowed his neighbor’s pistol and fired indiscriminately 17 times in the area of the 5000 block of Gerome Place in Wilmington.

Multiple shots were fired into the home of Williamson’s next-door neighbor while the neighbor was inside. Several of the shots also hit Williamson’s home and vehicle.

Police said Williamson was under the influence of narcotics and apparently hallucinating.

A search warrant was then obtained for Williamson’s residence, and inside, officers found 7.6 grams of marijuana, 41 amphetamine tablets, 19 clonazepam tablets, and 4 alprazolam pills.
