Wilmington man facing drug charges after traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop.
On October 31st around 9:45 p.m., Wilmington Police units initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of North Kerr Avenue and Birchwood Drive for a tag light and seatbelt violation.
The driver was identified as 42-year-old Walter McPherson III of Wilmington.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers located more than 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine, more than a gram of crack cocaine, dosage units of Xanax, and fentanyl.
McPherson was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, PWIMSD Cocaine, Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling Controlled Substance, Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoid, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He is being held at the NHSO Detention Center without bond.
