Wilmington man facing drug charges after traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department arrested a man on drug charges after a traffic stop Sunday night.
According to police, officers pulled over Robert Earl Townes, 40, in the 1300 block of Kornegay Avenue for failure to maintain lane control.
In his vehicle, officers found nearly 30 individually packaged bags of cocaine and a bag of marijuana.
Townes has been charged with PWIMSD Cocaine, PWIMSD Marijuana, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling Controlled Substance, Possession Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, among other charges.
He is currently being held without bond at the NHSO Detention Center.
