Wilmington man facing drug charges following traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man has been arrested for drug crimes after a traffic stop.

According to Wilmington Police Department, officers pulled over a vehicle Monday around 5:00 p.m. at Military Cutoff Road and Covil Farm Road for a red light violation.

Police say the driver, William Satterfield, 45, had mushrooms and ran away when told to remove his shoes. Officers quickly apprehended him and discovered cocaine inside his shoe.

Satterfield has been charged with Felony Possession Schedule I Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Cocaine, and Resist/Delay/Obstruct.

He was given a $10,000 secured bond.
