Wilmington man facing drug charges following traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop Tuesday night.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, WPD units initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at South 12th and Dawson Street. As soon as the car stopped, the driver fled on foot.

Officers later caught Kendrick Sherman Davis, 43, who was found with a stolen car, crack, and a large sum of cash.

Davis has been charged with Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, PWIMSD Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Resist/Delay/Obstruct Public Officers, and Driving While License Revoked Not Impaired.

Davis was given a $75,000 secured bond and is being held at the NHSO Detention Center.
