Wilmington man found guilty on heroin charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man faces up to 60 years in prison for selling heroin.

A federal jury in Raleigh found Tarcarlos Antigo Miller guilty Tuesday of conspiracy to distribute heroin and two counts of distribution of heroin.

A news release from the United States Attorney Eastern District of North Carolina Office said prosecutors presented evidence during the trial that proved Miller sold heroin to a confidential informant twice between November 2014 and January 2015. The release said, then, a witness testified that Miller supplied him with heroin to sell, and asked him to store Miller’s firearms.

Wilmington Police said they searched a repossesed silver Infiniti on April 22, 2015, and found drug packaging materials. Police said that same car turned out to be the one Miller was driving during one of the controlled buys.

On May 6, 2015, police said they saw Miller make a drug sales in a car. After arresting him, and searching his home, police said they found more than $3,000 on Miller, and more than $6,000 in his home.

The news release said that police interviewed Miller after waiving his Miranda rights. After police told Miller that they had him on video selling heroin, he said, “that may be, but I’m not as big a deal as everyone makes me out to be.”

At sentencing, the news release said Miller faces a up to 20 years in prison for the conspiracy charge and 20 years each for the two distribution charges.
