Wilmington man in custody after alleged theft from local gun store

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department have arrested a suspect for allegedly stealing a firearm from Tiller and Lanier guns on Jacksonville Street.

Police say detectives learned about the alleged theft Wednesday afternoon and saw surveillance footage from the business identifying the suspect as Tyshawn Pringle, 20.

He was arrested at an apartment in the 3000 block of Wilshire Boulevard where police allegedly found the stolen rifle, ammunition, pistol magazines, and drug paraphernalia.

Pringle has been charged with:

  • Felony Carrying a Concealed Weapon- Gun (CCW)
  • Larceny of a Firearm

He faces a $10,000 secured bond.
