Wilmington man killed in Saturday night shooting

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — A 44-year-old Wilmington man died after being shot Saturday night, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Police said officers responded shortly before 10 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 1500 block of South 12th Street. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers began life-saving measures while requesting additional units and emergency medical personnel. Despite those efforts, the man died at the scene, police said.

The victim was identified as Titus Singleton, 44, of Wilmington.

The shooting remains under investigation.
