Wilmington man receives eight years in prison

NEW BERN, NC (WWAY NEWS) — A Wilmington man has been sentenced to eight years in prison on federal charges.

Joseph Lee, 28, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Between June 29th and August 3rd of last year, a law enforcement confidential informant made a number of controlled purchases of meth from Lee.

According to law enforcement, Lee is a validated gang member of Folk Nation.
