Wilmington musician faces multiple child sex crime charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington musician faces multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Following a joint investigation between the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and State Bureau of Investigation, Jacob Bradley Newman, 37, was arrested on March 27.
Newman has played at multiple bars and restaurants in New Hanover County.
He’s charged with three counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to warrants, Newman had video of a unknown girl between the ages of 8 and 10, engaged in sexual activity with an adult. Other video featured another child between the ages of 7 and 10.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation began about a week before Newman’s arrest.
He is being held under a $300,000 bond.
