Wilmington Police arrest Charlotte man on drug charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a Charlotte man is now in custody on drug charges.

WPD units were in the 3200 block of Wrightsville Avenue Wednesday morning just after 1 a.m. when they noticed a black vehicle with heavy window tint and initiated a traffic stop.

Following a search, marijuana was located in addition to packaging material, money, and scales.

34-year-old Arturo Ervin of Charlotte was arrested and has been charged with Possession With Intent to Make Sell or Distribution Marijuana, PWIMSD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, Felony Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling Controlled Substance, and M/S/D/P Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of Park, since he was caught near Empie Park.

He is being held under a $125,000 secured bond at the NHSO Detention Center.
