Wilmington Police arrest two for alleged shooting, robbery in late June

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department has arrested two people for an alleged shooting and robbery that happened weeks ago.

On June 25, 2025, an armed robbery and shooting occurred in the 400 block of Evans Street.

The WPD Gun Crimes Unit Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and have charged 19-year-old Dakeon Abraham-Jones and 22-year-old Diamond Holt.

Warrants were taken out and Abraham-Jones was arrested by WPD/NHSO Mobile Field Force Units in downtown Wilmington. Police say he had a stolen firearm at the time of his arrest.

Holt was located and arrested by WPD patrol officers.

Abraham-Jones is charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Firearm, Carrying Concealed Weapon-Gun, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill/Inflict Serious Injury, Accessing Computers, and False Imprisonment, among other charges. He is being held at the NHSO Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.

Holt has been charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill/Inflict Serious Injury, Obtain Property by False Pretense, Accessing Computer, and False Imprisonment, among other charges. She is being held without bond.
